My Wishlist

Every now and then, folks will ask me my preferences gift-wise. For example, every year around December my wife wants me to make a Christmas wishlist. And every year, I scramble to put together something that she can use to help her buy me the kind of gift that appeals to me. As another example, after I've helped folks with computer issues, they'll sometimes offer to buy me a beer or two (or sometimes even a case, keg, etc.), or a bottle of wine, or something along those lines. Unfortunately, alcoholic beverages really don't appeal to me all that much, so I usually miss out on recieving these expressions of gratitude. Until now, that is. Anyone who expresses a need to know what I'd like as a gift gets pointed to this page.

For those of you who aren't aware of this, all published books are assigned an ISBN (International Standard Book Number). Any bookseller worth it's salt can use the ISBN to order you the book in question. So I include ISBN numbers (yes, that is redundant, just like saying HTTP protocol is redundant :) below whenever I list a book I'd like.

I suspect there may exist something similar to an ISBN for recorded music and video, but I'm not sure. Whenever possible, I will include any kind of similar identification numbers in my listings.
